This worksheet includes a color key for students to color specific shapes with their corresponding colors. This worksheet includes other shapes (such as ovals) and different sizes and spacial orientations for students to have to use higher critical thinking skills to determine. This worksheet could be used as an effective "extension" assessment for students who have a solid understanding of their shapes. This worksheet could also be used as an effective "lead-in" exercise to compare circles and ovals, and squares and rectangles. Note: "Color" is spelled "colour" on the worksheet.

This worksheet is simply an "idea" for comparing shapes in terms of sides and corners/angles. This specific worksheet includes many shapes that are not included in the kindergarten geometry SOL'S. The way the chart is set up (but without the superfluous shapes) is an effective data gathering idea and formative or summative assessment.
